WHAT DO I NEED TO start my training?
Aside from a laptop or desktop, you don't need anything else! In the white belt sections of both training courses, all the equipment you'll need (such as nunchucks, etc.) from yellow to black belt levels will be thoroughly covered in the video lessons.
Will I need a partner?
No! All of the training is done individually.
does my age matter?
It doesn't matter at all! You're never too old to start training. People of all ages are welcome, though we recommend ages 13+.
do i need any prior experience?
No, you don't need any previous experience in martial arts, sports, or with nunchucks! Our program is designed for beginners, and we'll guide you through everything step-by-step, regardless of your background.
Are there any physical materials included with membership?
There are no physical materials. All content is digital, allowing you to access your enrolled training course(s) and get started right away.
What's the difference between the two MEMBERSHIP pLANs?
The Nunchuck Master membership offers everything in the Nunchuck Pro membership, with additional resources to help you advance more quickly and gain deeper insights into your practice.

We teach American Style Nunchaku, a dynamic and fun martial art that blends impressive, eye-catching moves with practical techniques — all in a way that's surprisingly easy to master.
What's the difference between the two training COURSES?
The Complete Training Course is designed to guide you through every level of nunchuck training, that cover a wide range of skills. It's a comprehensive program that includes everything from basic techniques to advanced moves.
On the other hand, the Black Belt Fast Track Course is a streamlined version of the training that focuses only on the core American Style Nunchaku material needed to earn your black belt in a shorter amount of time.
Is there a trial period?
Yes, with the Nunchuck Pro membership plan, you'll get a 7-day free trial, followed by a subscription of $27.95 per month.
CAN i upgrade my membership?
Yes! You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your membership whenever you like.
If you decide to cancel, you must do so before the next month's autopay is processed, or you'll be charged.
Are there any additional fees besides the monthly subscription?
No! Aside from the optional $30 rank tests, there are no hidden fees or unnecessary charges.
can i access everything after signing up?
After signing up, you can immediately access all content that comes with your membership. However, new training course sections, rank tests, and classes are released monthly, giving you just enough time to practice your skills before advancing to the next belt.
Do I have to participate in the member community or in competitions?
No, participation in the member community or in competitions is completely optional.
How many belts make up the American Style Nunchaku System?
The Complete Training Course includes seven color belts (class ranks) before reaching black belt, while the Black Belt Fast Track Course includes only six.
Is rank testing mandatory?
Testing for rank is not necessary. You can train purely for personal growth, the satisfaction of earning your black belt, or with the goal of becoming a weapons champion.
Are there any time-in-grade requirements?
No, there are no time-in-grade requirements! The course is self-paced (except for the monthly content drops), so you can test for rank whenever you're ready.
Will my rank certificates read "online?"
No! The rank certificates will not include the words "online" or "virtual" and will be high-quality 11x17 digitals, perfect for framing.
will i have to test for my white belt?
You don't need to test for your white belt; you are automatically considered a white belt upon signing up.
is an online black belt a legit black belt?
Absolutely! It all depends on the martial art being taught. Champion Chux is as real as it gets. American Style Nunchaku is a weapon-based martial art focused on freestyle and forms, with no combative elements. It's all about having fun and looking impressive!
However, platforms that award black belts in arts like Karate, Kickboxing, Judo, or Jiu-Jitsu can be problematic. These disciplines require sparring, rolling, and pressure testing, which are essential for real-world application and hard to replicate online. On the other hand, American Style Nunchaku was specifically created for remote learning, making it a great fit for online training.
what do i GET after passing my black belt test?
After passing your black belt test, you'll receive a Champion Chux black belt certificate signed by Sensei Knopf, along with a merit certificate recognizing proficiency in the eight foundational forms (for those completing the Complete Training Course). You'll also receive an official black belt diploma from the American Style Nunchaku Federation (ASNF) and a custom embroidered black belt. All of these rewards will be mailed directly to your home.
how long does it take to become a black belt?
That depends on you! If you stay consistent and don't fall behind in the Complete Training Course, it will take about seven months to reach black belt. The Black Belt Fast Track Course can be completed in as little as six months. You can choose your training schedule—whether that's fifteen minutes a day, an hour, or even more, the pace is up to you.
which governing bodies will recognize my rank?
Upon passing your black belt exam, your rank will be automatically recognized by the ASNF. Additionally, you'll have the option to have your rank certified by some of the most respected and reputable governing bodies, including the United States Martial Arts Federation (USMAF), American Karate Association (AKA), Independent Karate Schools of America (IKSA), and other major organizations.
